ABOUT USThe web site “Ukraine and the WTO” has been created within the frameworks of the project to increase the public awareness of the World Trade Organization in Ukraine and provide coverage of the progress of the accession of Ukraine to the WTO with the ultimate goal of the establishment of the WTO Information Center. The site has been set up at the expense of the program of international assistance to the Government of Ukraine on the accession of the WTO. The site was launched at full scale in March 2007. The idea of a non-governmental specialized information resource, purposely devoted to WTO-related issues and international trade, has been given proactive support by the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine. “Ukraine and the WTO,” an independent informational bilingual web site (with the English and Ukrainian versions maintained), keeps both Ukrainian and international readers informed about news of the WTO and international trade and the evolution of the trade policy of Ukraine. As “Ukraine and the WTO” is the only Ukrainian media resource solely devoted to the WTO, it is referred by the Official Web Site of the World Trade Organization . The reference data of the “Ukraine and the WTO” site offer basic information about the WTO and the history of relations of Ukraine with the Organization . The detailed “Glossary of WTO terms” provides translation of the basic terminology of international trade from English into Ukrainian and vice versa, as well as explanations of the most important concepts. The “Documents” section accumulates analytical materials and statistical data on the WTO and the foreign trade policy of Ukraine. A search engine is available for extra convenience. The team of the web site “Ukraine and the WTO” believe that it can be a valuable resource for academics, students, journalists, politicians and entrepreneurs. Comments and proposals, which are accepted in the “Feedback” section, are reviewed with great attention. Welcome to www.wto.in.ua.
