In the study, BRAAC experts have analyzed effects of the WTO membership on different aspects of the economic life of Ukraine. REGULATORY AND COMPETITION REFORMS CRITICAL TO UKRAINE’S FUTURE ECONOMIC GROWTH - OECD REPORT

In its first Economic Assessment of Ukraine, the OECD says the factors that have helped boost average annual growth to over 7 percent over the past six years are unlikely to last. Sustaining Ukraine’s strong economic growth will require firm action to cut red tape and bring down barriers to competition, says a new OECD report. It adds that opening up markets to domestic as well as foreign entrants would boost productivity growth while public administration reform and a stronger legal system are needed to improve the business climate and tackle corruption.

SUBSIDY

The brochure covers the general principles and legal basis of the World Trade Organization and European Union regarding programs of government support for national producers. The book also presents the experience of Poland in the area of reforming the policy of governmental subsidies. This experience is very useful for Ukraine in view of the scale and place of the economies of the two neighboring countries in the region and world. Based on the review of the government subsidies policy in Ukraine, the analysts offer the recommendations concerning reforming the policy. The study has been prepared by a joint expert group of the Ukrainian Center of International Integration (Kyiv, Ukraine) and Foreign Trade Research Institute (FTRI, Warsaw, Poland).
